York Potato Industry |
| Agriculture is the largest
industry in New York State. NY growers grow about 20,000 acres of crop for
seed, fresh and processing. New York’s potato growers are 14th in the
nation in potato production. The potato industry crop is valued at $41.8
million and production amounts to 5.2 million cwt. There are approximately
150 commercial potato growers in New York State.
